Sunday with a Sassy Shopaholic: Computer Accessories and Beauty Products

This week, I needed more face moisturiser and toner. I ordered my usual products online. These are:

Byphasse Rose Toner which cost 1.49€ instead of 1.99 which is it’s usual price.

Byphasse Day Cream (SPF8) and Night Cream, €3.94 each.

I love Garnier’s Oil-Infused Micellar Water. I bought another bottle of that. It’s the best product I’ve found so far that removes both regular and waterproof makeup the easiest, and it does not leave oily residue. That cost €3.99.

I needed a computer bag for my laptop. I found a zebra-print one with inner padding from AliExpress and I also bought a metallic pink iPad stand from there.

Sunday with a Sassy Shopaholic: Urban Decay, NYX and Barry M.

Yesterday. most of what I bought on Black Friday finally arrived. I love Urban Decay and have quite a few palettes by them.

I ordered their Naked Honey palette which cost 29.45€ instead of 54€.

NYX is a brand I heard of a few years ago and I really wanted their Soft Matte Lip Cream. I bought it in the shade Madrid,  and it cost 5,24€.

Barry M is a brand I have used and loved since I was a teenager. I wasn’t sure which of their products to buy but knew I needed a lip scrub as I have dry lips in the winter. Their lip scrub was available in Apple. Peppermint and Mango and I bought the Apple one which cost 4.95€.

I still don’t have everything as I also ordered Urban Decay’s Party Favor palette which I hope will be with me soon.

I bought all these from Lookfantastic.

Sunday with a Sassy Shopaholic: The Book of Two Ways by Jodi Picoult (signed by the author).

I am so excited about this post! I love Jodi Picoult’s books and own almost all of them. Although I use iPad VoiceOver to have books read out, I also love physical copies as keepsakes. Back in February, this was announced in her email newsletter and a Waterstones bookshop link was included. My parents pre-ordered the book for me and it arrived a few days ago. It is a signed first edition. Here’s a synopsis: From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Small Great Things and A Spark of Light comes a riveting novel about the choices that alter the course of our lives. Everything changes in a single moment for Dawn Edelstein. She’s on a plane when the flight attendant makes an announcement: Prepare for a crash landing. She braces herself as thoughts flash through her mind. The shocking thing is, the thoughts are not of her husband but of a man she last saw fifteen years ago: Wyatt Armstrong. husband, Brian, their beloved daughter, and her work as a death doula, in which she helps ease the transition between life and death for her clients. But somewhere in Egypt is Wyatt Armstrong, who works as an archaeologist unearthing ancient burial sites, a career Dawn once studied for but was forced to abandon when life suddenly intervened. And now, when it seems that fate is offering her second chances, she is not as sure of the choice she once made. After the crash landing, the airline ensures that the survivors are seen by a doctor, then offers transportation to wherever they want to go. The obvious destination is to fly home, but she could take another path: return to the archaeological site she left years before, reconnect with Wyatt and their unresolved history, and maybe even complete her research on The Book of Two Ways—the first known map of the afterlife. As the story unfolds, Dawn’s two possible futures unspool side by side, as do the secrets and doubts long buried with them. Dawn must confront the questions she’s never truly asked: What does a life well lived look like? When we leave this earth, what do we leave behind? Do we make choices…or do our choices make us? And who would you be if you hadn’t turned out to be the person you are right now?

Sunday with a Sassy Shopaholic: MacBook Air 2020 (Gold)

It’s a long time since I did one of these posts because I haven’t been buying anything.

On Thursday, we chose my MacBook Air. I did so much online research over the past month or more and decided the Macbook Air was the one for me.

I was deciding between the 12.9″ iPad Pro and the MacBook Air. For a long time I was set on getting the  iPad Pro, but then I decided that, impressed as I was by the iPad Pro, the memory (128GB) wasn’t enough for me right now with everything I need to do since I work on novels and the models with more memory (256GB plus) were too expensive.  I have wanted to  experience the full  Mac OS rather than iPad apps for so long.

The MacBook Air 2020  I chose from our local Apple Store has the i5 processor  512GB SSD memory, and 8GB of RAM. I can’t wait to use it!

My iPad  2 will be 9 years old on my birthday (December 22)  this year which was when I was given it  in 2011 and it’s still good for internet searches and the Kindle app still works. And I can watch TV shows or a movie on it.

I’m so glad I have my first Mac and can’t wait to review it.

I’m looking forward to choosing a new iPad in the near future.

Sunday with a Sassy Shopaholic: Primark Haul

I wanted to know what was new at the shops since the last time we went on my birthday.

First stop was the drugstore where I bought a product I’ve been wanting to try for ages, Garnier’s Micellar Water. I find oil-based eye makeup removers remove glitter better than standard micellar water. It cost 3.99€.

We looked in Mango but there wasn’t anything I liked.

I found 2 tshirts (pink and white) for 2€ each and 3 pairs of shorts (camouflage, black and white snake print and dark pink) for 3€ each.

I have 3 pairs of peep toe shoes with a stencilled pattern on them. There were similar ones with a closed toe so I bought those. There were 2 colours available: dark cream and “nude”- a pinky beige- both were pretty, but the cream contrast better with my skin tone and with my dark wash jeans,so I got those.

I found a 4- hole makeup pencil sharpener so bought 2 as I have so many lip and eye pencils and it’s useful to have. I’ve never seen one like this before.

There were a lot of palettes and I tried a few as they were available to swatch instore, which was a new thing, having the palettes open in front of me.

I liked the Wild palette as soon as I saw it: fake fur leopard print packaging  and pinks browns and coppers. It cost 10€ but I wear these kinds of colours a lot.

I bought an eyelash curler which cost 2€- I’ve never got one from   Primark before.

I’m looking forward to trying all this out!

Sunday with a Sassy Shopaholic: My Pre- New Year’s Eve Buys

This year I was pleased to find a good selection of New Year things, Most didn’t interest me, they were hats and streamers but what did were crowns

and a  Happy New Year banner

as well as photo props so we got those and they were 1€ each so well-priced.

They’re cardboard but seem quite strong and I can’t wait to find out what they’re really like.

A Different Black Friday

Today is Black Friday and that would usually have me buying at least something online and I did browse my favourite sites in the past few days to see what offers were around. Kiko had the same buy 3 get 3 free on everything on their site. While this is a good offer and one I wait for every year and also one I’ve taken advantage of in the past I’m still working my way through the makeup I bought there some Black Friday’s ago.

My local drugstore had hourly flash sales and they were on some of my favourite brands like Maybelline and W7 but they didn’t have all the products in stock that I wanted to be able to make use of their buy 3 get 3 free offers.

I am after some more Maybelline Fit Me Poreless foundation as well as  the Socialite and Spaced Out palettes from W7 plus a lip scrub but all the lip scrubs from this brand (and many others) were sold out.  Lip scrubs are a year-round beauty staple for me so I can keep my lips looking great.

Sephora has a 20% offer on makeup and treatments in general and all the Sephora Collection lip scrubs are sold out. I really want the Urban Decay Party Favour and Naked Honey palettes and have those on my list.

Urban Decay have a 25% discount sitewide but I don’t have the money right now for both these palettes. The mascaras were just travel size and I prefer full size. I was tempted by the UD Afterglow blusher in Bittersweet, a bright purple but didn’t buy it because I’m not sure the colour will suit me although I love anything purple.

I’ve seen some dupe Urban Decay and Huda Beauty palettes on AliExpress and I already have a dupe for her Rose Gold palette and one for Urban Decay’s Naked Heat.

I’m taking part in the Thankfully Reading readathon again (my second time) and signed up late but need to get some books listened to in time for a holiday book review  event.

I finished off today watching Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, a film I love. All in all it was a different, but good, Black Friday. For once it was good to avoid the crowds.

Sunday with a Sassy Shopaholic: Stocking up on Essentials (Plus Some New Products)

This week was another drugstore haul as I’m running out of products for my skincare routine.
I bought my usual products which are Rose Toner, Doceur Cleanser 1,99€

Q10 Day and Night Cream 3,99€ all by Byphasse.

Revolution Beauty Oil Control Fixing Spray is a staple of mine and I’ve used it twice now. I found the Matte Fix Oil Control Fixing Spray (4,99€) and am wondering how it’ll compare to the standard oil control formula.

I found Cien Coconut Body Cream 1,19€ (was 1,69€) on offer at the supermarket so got that.
Preparing for Halloween I bought a black liquid eyeliner by Cien for 1,99€ and found a gorgeous dark purple lipstick called Vamp It Up by Wet ‘n’ Wild (2,99€).
So now I’ve stocked up on my beauty essentials and have also found some new things to try.

Sunday with a Sassy Shopaholic: Primark Clothes Haul

Today we went to Primark on a whim and I found a mid- length skirt  I liked. It’s dark brown  and cost  16€. I chose some fleece PJs which are a nude colour and they were 10€. I needed some more long sleeved tshirts. I really like Primark’s long sleeved slouchy tees and already have them in black, navy blue sea green and pink. Today they had them in stock in nude, a blue not dissimilar to a denim shade, burgundy and grey. For 2,50€ each they are an absolute bargain and I’m sure I’ll get a lot of wear out of them. They are very soft and have a round neck which has a nice silhouette.

We went to Mango and Mango Outlet but I didn’t find anything I liked. I’ve been searching   for a denim shirt and maybe a denim jacket for awhile. I’m planning to go back to Primark sometime and check out what’s new in their makeup and beauty product  range. I like the sound of the camo makeup.

What I chose from Primark was my gift from Alfredo to me for 6 months of marriage.
