About the Author:

Zoé O’Farrell grew up in Watford but left the town life to live by the sea down at the White Cliffs of Dover. She spends her days working with numbers before escaping in the evening to the world of words and movies. Her go-to relaxation is watching a scary movie or reading a terrifying book!

She is a book blogger and tour organiser just to keep her extra busy. When she is not reading or writing, you can usually find her watching Watford FC or at a gig. Failing that she can be found rolling her eyes at her husband as he acts the same age as her spitfire of a Mini-Me whilst separating her two cats.

My Review:

A high school left in ruins after a terrible event. A group of friends and an Ouija board.

Jon and Lara have different ideas about what will be best to do when they have the Ouija board. I sided with Lara, sceptical and scared of the whole thing. There’s something about Ouija boards that scares me.

Yet I wanted to know what was going to happen SO much. The setting and language used amped up the creepy atmosphere.

Zoé-Lee O’ Farrell’s imagination is amazing and I was pulled in by the disturbing opening scene, which opens, a year later, onto the seemingly normal setting typical high school scenes.

Do not be fooled…this is a gripping book and once it has its hold it won’t let go.

Each character is unique and well-fleshed-out. The settings are visual and the flow of the book is tight and entertaining from the first word to the last.

What an excellent debut novel!

I was more into Point Romance than Point Horror years ago. Then I bought my first Point Horror book and loved it.

Ouija is quite rightly compared to Point Horror as it’s a short, well woven book that has chills and surprises throughout. The word choices are excellent to enhance the atmosphere.

Thanks to Zoé-Lee O’ Farrell for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review. I am looking forward to more books by Zoé.

Part of a two book series, book 1, Camp Death, is by Jim Ody.
